Well...we are in the new house and more importantly MY FAMILY
IS HERE!
Starting with Friday night my aunt and her fiance David got into
town and stayed with me at the hotel the radio station put me up in.
We went out to dinner, I showed them the house, and it was bed
time cause I had to be up early to pick up Kelly and the boys at the
airport up in Denver.
In the meantime my two brother in laws RJ and David were driving
across the country in a Penske truck with EVERYTHING we own!
They went non stop and made it here on Saturday at 9am.
I was up in Denver at the airport and picked up Kelly and my two
sons, Steven and Adam, after not seeing them in nine days. It felt
like a lifetime and I won't lie it was pretty sappy. Steven was
attached to me the whole day and I loved it - well, it did get hard
when we were unloading the truck!
Check this out...my neighbor is retired from the Air Force (Thanks
Ken!) and he helped us move everything in. What an amazing guy.
I owe him big time. Some people from the station showed up too
which was nice and now we have to find a place for everything.
There are stairs and we aren't used to that so I am in the basement
which is finished typing this and Kelly is up stairs with Adam since
we just put Steven to bed. We are texting each other if we need
anything! Lazy!
I had to drive everyone back to Denver for their flight back to
Chicago Sunday and it took two hours to get there and three hours
to get back! Where is the salt? Where are the plows? :)
Probably the hardest thing so far with the move is that we have a
bunch of toys that my mom and stepdad Norm had at the house
here in Colorado. I guess Norm gave them to Kelly or whatever and
it's just hard seeing it as a reminder of my mom...but as Kelly says
it is a GOOD thing and she is right - it's just so fresh still I guess.
On a more upbeat note here are some pics I took while Kelly ran
around for a few hours today getting some stuff for the
house...Steven was sleeping so I have none of him...good thing
cause Adam was pretty needy!
This is Kelly at our "going away/her 30th bday" party a few weeks
ago...she is with Steven...
My wife, Kelly, is
walking in the Susan G.
Komen 3 Day Walk in
August back home in
Chicago.
This is something near
and dear to us as we
try to raise money to
defeat breast cancer.
She is walking for my
mother...Anne...she
passed away January
21st of this year.
If you know anyone
who has been affected
by breast cancer or
would like to help
please donate! THANK
YOU for any support
you can provide.
This is very personal
for us and our families
and affects many
woman today. At first
I felt weird about
asking for donations,
but you know what, it
is a major issue and
the more awareness
and help the better!
