I've gotten emails from you asking where Tammy Oakland is...no she is NOT
being stashed away. Check out
her My Space and you'll get everything you
need! But I can tell you she is doing GOOD!!

Well Mother's Day is officially over and Kelly was with our boys all
day. Granted, I wasn't with them but she is their mother and I hope
they got her something nice! Ha.

I didn't do too much to celebrate. Actually went to a MASS today at
St. Apostles here in town. It was packed but a nice mass. They had
all of the mother's stand up to an applause that was worked into
the sermon by Father Paul. I went back later on to the chapel too. I
just really get centered there and like to have the quiet time. I did
get some stuff to officially join the congregation at some point too.
Might as well I have been there enough!

When I go back there is a framed prayer of St. Jude on the wall of
the church that I really like to read. I suppose that I should do what
I'm supposed to and say it nine days in a row but I have not yet but
will NOW. Those of you who know me well and especially those
who don't know that I am not a VERY RELIGIOUS person but I
have been finding comfort at the church lately.

"St. Jude, glorious apostle, faithful servant and friend of Jesus,
the name of the person who betrayed our Lord, has caused you to
be forgotten by many, but the true Church invokes you
universally as the Patron of things despaired of. Pray for me, who
is so miserable; pray for me, that I may finally receive the
consolations and the succour of Heaven in all my necessities,
tribulations, and sufferings, particularly (ADD YOUR PERSONAL
REQUEST HERE in which I say "the strength and courage to go on
in life"), and that I may bless God with the Elect Throughout
Eternity."

So it is a nice prayer I guess and I will see if doing the novena
helps me a bit. :)

Jumping back a little bit...not so religious!

I went out with some guys from the station and their ladies to a
fundraiser for Juvenille Diabetes Research here in The Springs on
Friday night. It was with our friends at Fox 21. A wonderful night,
had the tux going and everything. Hung out with the Fox 21 staff
until the wee hours of the morning at "The Golden Bee" which is a
nice piano sing along bar. I loved it so much and cannot WAIT to
bring my wife there. It is so a place she would like. I guess they
like brought the decor in from England or something. Very cool.

Saturday, Tim Elbertson the weather guy from Fox 21 and our
assistant engineer (Brent) who is new to town came over and we
went to a Sky Sox game. Now, out of us three I MAY have been the
coolest one there. They even said that when I asked if they wanted
to go to a bar and hang...it was like, "dude you are with a
meteorologist and an engineer. LOL!! They were fun that is for
sure. So I enjoyed much of my weekend.

Sunday, I was actually awakened by my Aunt Linda back home
who was thinking about me. She put a rose on my mom's
headstone and I know she is reading this so thanks again Aunt
Linda. Did you know you woke me up? :) That is why I didn't sound
too coherent but I knew what you were saying!

Kelly and the boys will return from Chicagoland this week on
Wednesday so I am looking forward to then.

Hope all of you moms had a nice Mother's Day and take part in our
Monday morning MOM OFF!!! It's fun!

Talk to you soon,

JC
