SORRY FOR NOT BLOGGING
I feel odd apologizing to whom ever for not blogging. I also feel
kind of pompous (is that the correct word )for assuming that their
are people out there that check this site to see what I have been up
to.
I went back home mid June for Adam's dedication and I stayed in
IL for awhile and when I came home my sister Colleen came to
visit the following day and she stayed with us for 3 weeks and left
today :(
Over the 4th of July week my parents drove in for a visit for a
couple days also. It was so great to have family around. We did so
much these past three weeks I have discovered so many things in
CO I will have to share them all later
It is past 10pm and I'm exhausted I will try harder to keep up with
blogging... before I leave town again...

Hello Strangers! I guess I'm actually the stranger......
I have done a lot since I have blogged last...
At the beginning of the month I flew back home for Adam's
Dedication. I stayed at my brother Dave's house for a few days
and then a few days at my parents house. I felt like I was gone
forever and I still didn't get to see everyone that I wanted to!!!
Next time I will for sure make a better plan.
I came home last Tuesday and then my sister Colleen came in
town on Wednesday and she will be staying with us until July
9th, so we have been out and about with the boys. We have
been in search of free places to go and outside water parks.
We went to Chatfield State Park and I for sure like there beach
area better then Pueblo State Park
I have been in search of a beach umbrella for days now!!!!
Kmart, Walmart, Target, Dick's I don't know where else to look!!
If you know of a place for sure please let me know
We also went to the Deerfield Spray Park, it was nice but since
Steven really doesn't like to be splashed I think we will just go to
the small spray area down the street from us in front of the
Cinemark.
Today we hung out in the house and then headed up to Chapel
Hills Mall to let Steven run off some energy and he did! We also
past a pet shop which I hate to see the animals in small little
cages but Steven loved to watch the puppies play, I hate that Joe
is allergic to dogs I would love to get 2 dogs for Steven I say 2
because when we are out I want the other dog to have a friend to
hang out with.
Then we drove to Garden of the Gods and then through Manitou
Springs, we will for sure go there a spend the afternoon walking
around the shops. Such a cute little town, sorta reminds me of
Galena, IA
Tomorrow my sister and the boys will be driving up to Denver to
the Children's Museum and then hopefully to a vegan restaurant,
I'm very excited about the museum it finally looks like a place
that Adam will enjoy (7mts).
Well my sister and I are going to watch Amry Wives now
Talk to you later and hopefully I will have some pictures

Nice and quiet day
This morning I started our watering of the lawn in hopes of a
miracle that the grass will come back to life.
Mid morning Steven's new friend AJ came over and played, they
get along so well!
By lunch time AJ and the rest his family were all over hanging out
and playing with the kids, I can't say enough how nice it is to have
them as neighbors.
800pm Now
Joe and Steven are at the Sky Sox game and Pam and her daughter
took Steven for a walk, I should be cleaning our packing but
instead I'm relaxing with a half glass of wine and blogging.. I know
they won't be gone long so I'm enjoying the calm before the storm.
Sorry this is so short... Just a quiet day at home

Great Great Fun and Productive Weekend!!
I'm really starting to feel at home here. (Don't get me wrong
family back home I still really miss you all !! And I promise I
won't get too cozy...)
But I feel like Joe and I have been really able to spread our wings
as a family, finally living in a neighborhood with people that have
families and meeting all these new people from all over the states.
Friday night I went with some girls that I met from Joe's work and
we went and saw Sex in the city. I have never seen an episode but
I still thought the movie was pretty good, but this is also coming
from a person who has not been to the movie's in a very long time!!
When the heck did ticket prices get up to 8.50?! That is crazy
thanks to my Lil brother RJ back home I have not had to pay for a
movie for years now.. Miss that now!! Especially knowing that
tickets are so expensive.
Saturday morning we went to breakfast and then I dropped off Joe
and Steven at Rampart Park to watch our neighbors boy play touch
foot ball, I went to the mall with Adam. Then came back and hung
out there for about another hour with them. During the day we
played outside and invited our neighbors and some of Joe's works
friends over. Steven stayed up until about 1030pm playing so well
with the other kids, it was so nice for him. Yeah I'm babbling on
about my kids all the time, I'm just so happy that we have made
friends here that have kids they play well together.
Sunday we went to the Sky Sox game with our neighbors and their
two boys, we got home ate some dinner and Steven wanted to go
back over there again to play with them. So we went over there
and the played for about an hour in the backyard.
Joe finally got our lawn in check and made it his new project, I'm
so glad he took that over!!! I think our grass has hope and will
soon grow!!
Overall just a nice family weekend with great company to hang
around with.
I hope everyone else enjoyed their weekend!

Today was a good day.
I didn't get much accomplished around the house. Well, I did
manage to get one bathroom cleaned from top to bottom, it is hard
to clean when Steven wants to play I try to let him help me as
much as possible.
Steven had speech therapy today and that went okay...
After that I packed the boys up and headed down to Lake Pueblo to
check out the campsite area, I want to go there mid June and I
wanted to pick out a good site first. I stopped at the beach and let
Steven play in the water, he loved it!! Adam put his feet in but it
was too cold for him.
Once we got home Steven got to play with his new friend Cooper
who is 4 but they seem to get along very well and his parents are
very cool too!
I feel so grown up meeting all of these new families!

Joe and I have been together for awhile. I still love him the same
if not more then the first time we met. BUT and there always is a
but I wish he would do more spontaneous things for me, like
romantic things, I really do miss that. I understand with the kids
why it doesn't happen but sometimes you have to make the time.
I came across this list of 15 things a man can do for his wife. After
I read it I thought this does go both ways now doesn't it. Maybe if
I was more spontaneous then my husband would get the same idea
and thing of things to do on his own. This is odd to blog about
especially knowing that Joe will read it but I'm sure there are a lot
of married couples out there that are wanting to spice up there
marriage. And again please don't get me wrong I love my husband
and he is a great husband and a great father but I think like most
women we just like to be wooed more.
Most of these I don't care for but there are for sure a couple of
good ideas listed.
So you're in a relationship and your partner starts nagging. She
tells you that you just don't understand her, and that she really
wishes that you would just do more "little things."
It's not the big things that make her happy; it's paying attention to
the little details and showing you care that is really meaningful.
She doesn't necessarily need lavish gifts -- she needs to know
you're thinking about her.
Here are some ideas to get you started doing these "little things"
she really wants:
1. Rub her feet instead of asking her if she wants you to rub her
feet. Make it look like you want to do it.
2. Make her dinner one night. Don't ask her if she wants you to
make dinner. Make her dinner before she gets home.
3. Light a candle so that she arrives home to a nice environment
instead of coming home to the glaring lights of the television and
other things.
4. Send her a text in the middle of the day telling her "I miss your
smile from this morning" or "Last night was amazing!" or "The
conversation we had last night was great."
5. Send an eCard in the middle of the day... something cute to
remind her how much you really care about her.
6. If she's going on a business trip, offer to drive her to the airport
or pick her up to make her life that much easier.
7. Let her have control of the remote control. Don't monopolize it
for a change. Just give it to her and let her actually sit there and
enjoying watching one of her shows. Then you can share one of
her interests by watching it with her.
8. Offer to iron one of her shirts or take her clothes to the dry
cleaner.
9. Clean up the bathroom without being asked. Don't just sit there
and ignore the mess around the toilet. If you know it drives her
crazy to see water splashed all around the sink, dry that area
after you use it.
10. If you work out together, enjoy it with her instead of rushing
through your own workout and then not letting her workout at
the same time.
11. Take a shower together, then wash her hair, scrub her back,
and give her a spa treatment. Do this and enjoy it!
12. The next time she gives you a massage, give her a massage
the next day. Offer it! Don't just say you'll give her a
massage...do it!
13. Surprise her by making plans. Tell her, "We're going out
tonight honey." You can even just go out for a drink or dinner
somewhere. It's taking the initiative that's important.
14. Decide on and set aside one night a week as date night. Have
a date like when you first started dating.
15. Call her in the middle of the day and just say hello. Don't wait
for her to call you.
It can be simple to keep her satisfied. It's not necessarily about
what you give her financially or what gifts you give her. That's a
cop out. It's the little things. The guy who makes the biggest
mistake is the one who ignores their significant other then all of a
sudden give them an expensive gift to make up for it. That
doesn't make up for it at all.

Holiday Weekends..
When you are a stay home Mom a holiday weekend just does not
feel the same. I should have planned a barbecue or something like
that but I didn't, I'm just so used to staying home I forget how nice
a 4 day weekend really feels like.
Joe worked at the Peak FM booth at Territory Days on Saturday
and on Monday at the end of his shift I met him with the boys and
we walked around, well we tried to walk around it was very
crowded and for some reason they have everything all squished
together, sort of annoying. Obviously Joe disagrees with me.
There was tractor train that pulled the kids through the crowd and
back down a little side street of Old Colorado Springs. Joe and I
had seen it on Saturday and we talked about letting Steven go on
it. I was freaked that someone would just snatch him right up and
take off with him and Joe was afraid that he would just freak out
and jump out. So as parents we took a big step and let Steven go
on the train all by himself. Yes I was stationed at the half way
point and Joe did follow behind the train but hey we were not the
only parents doing the same thing.... made me feel a little more
normal.
Here is a video...he is second behind the conductor!
Overall I had a really nice family weekend with Joe and the boys
and I hope everyone else enjoyed their weekend.

My double stroller woes
A couple of weeks ago I told you about my horrible experience
about attempting to buy a double stroller off of Craigslist. Anyways
I ended up going to Babies r Us and bought a double stroller a side
by side one. I have used it a couple of times and I have enjoyed it
but Adam and Steven keep fighting with each other.... well Steven
doesn't like when Adam reaches into his area to grab things from
him.
So tonight I returned it and got a Graco Quattro Tour Duo that is a
tandem double stroller, I tried it out all over the store and even
took it outside to make sure if fit in my trunk. Steven loved it and
Adam really doesn't care at this point but he too enjoyed it.
I went to the store with intentions of buying a light weight side by
side stroller, I was trying to go the lightweight compact route but I
saw this stroller and Steven just seemed so much more
comfortable in it.
I think my next move is to get a bigger car.. Joe is anti mini van so
I will have to search for a 7 passenger SUV, I did see the Mazda
mini van drive by and it looked cute and not so much like the
normal mini vans Who knows... We have a lease right now so we
have to wait...
I too would prefer an SUV but I'm most definitely not against
getting a mini van. Joe still likes to live out his glory days and feels
the mini van would put a damper on it.
Well the kids are in bed and Joe should be home in about 45
minutes so I think I will go now and enjoy some alone time.
Have a great holiday weekend!!! I'm very excited to check out
Territory Days!!

Lazy Day
Today the boys and I went to Kohl's ( for one of their many BIG
sales ) and then I went to Chapel Hills Mall and let Steven run
around. I was trying to stay away from the house because Joe is
sick again and needed some rest.
Milestone for Adam today
He finally let me feed him food and my Mom was able to watch it
over Skype so that was very cool, she has been on my case for him
only being on a bottle.
I'm so excited for summer to get here I have two things that
already really want to do!! I want to go camping at Lake Pueblo
and then I want to see the Royal Gorge Bridge. Hopefully when my
sister comes Joe will be more willing to go out and do those things
as a family plus my sister.
Steven started his fish oil today.. I spiked his milk with it.
Well it is only 830pm and I'm exhausted!!! Catch ya later
Kelly :)

Another good day
Today both boys did wake up early but I was okay with it because
they were in great moods!!
I started my lawn work today, what a pain!! I'm raking up all of
dead grass so that I can water and fertilize. Today I learned I was
giving the neighbors a nice boob show, very embarrassing!
Joe surprised me by wanting to go to the zoo, it is so nice to go
during the week I feel like we have the place to ourselves.
Tomorrow I will be starting Steven on a teaspoon of fish oil a day,
during his evaluation the therapist recommended it she told us
there was a study on speech delayed children and how they took
the oil and within two weeks their speech had greatly improved.
I will keep you posted on how it works....
Joe is feeling sick so I have to cut my blog short :)

Finally Feeling Normal
This weekend Joe invited some friends from work over and I was
excited to meet them and possibly make a friend myself. It was so
nice to whip up some vegan appetizers and have people over to the
house to hang out converse and throw back a couple of drinks.
Sunday Joe asked if his friend Jeremy and his wife Sherry wanted
to come over for dinner, I love it, his wife already is vegetarian and
is on her way to becoming a vegan so making dinner for them was
nice because I knew I would not be judged. I made spinach lasagna
and small desert and gave them a doggy bag. It was so nice to talk
with them and have someone who understands and appreciates my
vegan lifestyle.
Today Joe finally came to the zoo with us and we had so much fun I
was so happy to show him around and let him see how excited
Steven is to learn about the animals.
Overall I had a great weekend. ( thanks Hun! )
I need to vent...
I hate texting!!!!
I get it, I know how to use it I just believe that there is a time and
a place for it. Loud places, movies, bars places like that, just not
when you are hanging out driving. OH driving I hate it !!! Please
don't text and drive!!! NOT GOOD AT ALL
Joe will text me and ask me how the kids are and I just feel like if
he really wanted to know he would just call, because basically all I
can really text back is a short sentence I'm not to go into details of
what really is going on.
All day long he will text with people and I just feel like he is having
this other conversation that I have no idea of what is going on.
I just don't like it!
5-15-2008
Greetings from Lincoln Nebraska!!
Right now I'm at a hotel, relaxing with the boys before the last
stretch of my trip back home.
I shouldn't say relaxing because Steven is bouncing off of the walls
and driving me NUTS!!
On the way to Illinois I went old school and the boys entertained
themselves with their toys. On the way home I stopped and picked
up a portable dvd player, I think Steven is much happier I feel like
a horrible Mom for doing that but back in the day when I would
travel with my family I think we could be fine playing with our toys
and games because we were not strapped down to the seats. I
think when we were free to move around in the vehicle really
helped pass the time. That is how I'm justifying the purchase.
My hopes are now to get the boys washed up and lay down go to
sleep!!!
More tomorrow!!
5-14-2008
Today I went to IKEA, I love IKEA everything there is so neat and
organized, the sofa's are way to small for Joe to fit on but
everything else I love! I was hoping to find some organizers for
the boys toys but I didn't have the correct measurements so that
was a bummer.
My Dad is up and walking around today and he has not had to take
a pain pill at all, so that is very good news. Back in the day my Dad
had a huge train set that he built from scratch and if you know
anything about trains he put a lot of time, money and effort into it.
Since my parents have moved into a smaller place he has not been
building them but he has been selling some of his stuff at train
shows, MY point is that a man saw his work and has hired him to
build a train area for him so he did get the train running tonight and
Steven loved it!!! So cute when it was time to go to bed he was
even telling the Choo (train) good night!!!
Well it is almost 10pm and these boys are still up and we have a
big drive ahead of us so I'm off to getting them to bed!!
5-13-2008
It has been a long time !!!!
Monday or was it Tuesday.... I brought Steven to meet his new
pediatrician and to get something for his rash that I could not get to
go away. Steven did his usual thing once we got into the room he
pretty much screamed until we walked out of the office door. Poor
little guy was so upset he even vomited in the office from crying so
much. I did find out his rash is actually eczema which I was not
completely shocked because besides myself and one of my younger
brothers everyone in my family pretty much has horrible skin, all
manageable but everyone has their own issues.
Saturday morning I did a 5k with my sister and my sister in law
who I will be doing the 3Day with in August it was nice to walk
with them and sorta get an idea of our walking styles before
August. I'm hoping we can get some more walking in together
during the relay for life on June 13th. It will be really hard to go
there, last year we went with Anne and now this year we will be
going in her honor and WOW that is even hard to type.
Tuesday night my husband and I talked about me driving back
home for my Dad's surgery and that I would surprise them. I left
Wednesday afternoon and stopped at hotel in Lexington NE. That
first stretch went smoothly and kids were perfect in the car and at
the hotel. I woke up around 530am packed the car up with my
bags and the boys and got a nice and early head start.
Unfortunately I did get a flat tire in Iowa the whole process from
getting the flat to getting a brand new tire took about 2 hours
which stunk!! But it was a nice break for myself and the boys.
When I finally arrived at my parents house they were nice and
surprised! My Dad was very happy to see us, along with the rest of
my family.
I feel bad that I didn't tell to many people I was in town but I just
really wanted to have Steven hang out with my Dad and just spend
some time with my immediate family. Plus in two weeks I will be
back here anyways...
Sunday was Mother's Day and I was feeling really guilty for
leaving Joe but he had told me on several occasions that he would
be okay...I went to my brothers house for brunch and then to the
mall with my Mom, not a very exciting day .. pretty low key
It is about 6pm Monday night and my Dad's surgery went well so I
will be okay with leaving Wednesday morning.
Okay enough from me.
